Make an Entrance

Written by on 28th June 2012 in Blog POSTS with 0 Comments

Shopping for an entry light is tons of fun.  These lights are options for a client’s entry with a vaulted ceiling and lots of airspace to fill. I love using an unexpected fixture in a young family home..they’re not a 100 years old…why use a fixture that says they are?

One Room Challenge – Part Duex

Written by on 27th June 2012 in Blog POSTS with 16 Comments

Sweet! I was lucky enough to get asked by Linda at My Crafty Home Life to throw my hat into the ring of another awesome Room Challenge.  If you followed me last time you might remember that each blogger selects a room to feature and works and blogs weekly to finish it over a six week period.  This time around I am working on a design studio in my basement where I can meet with clients and be creative in a space that is completely separate from my research consulting office  disaster upstairs.

Here is my inspiration for the studio.  I instantly loved Emily Clark’s office earlier this year and I knew I wanted to fill the back wall with bookshelves and find an old table that would serve as a desk.  I’ve been collecting pieces as I find them and I did the french doors in January but the room has sat untouched (and full of forgotten exercise equipment) as life marches on. I can’t wait to get started!!

Below you can find links to the other Challenge Participants!! Check them out!

Site I Like

Written by on 26th June 2012 in Blog POSTS with 1 Comment

I recently came across a website called HomeSav that has a rotating selection of home decor deals and yes of course peeps they ship to Canada and you can shop in Canadian dollars.  I think I’m going to get this rad concert poster for a design project that I have coming up….More details on that later this week!

I didn’t go to this event, but I’ve “celebrated good times” with Kool and the Gang more than once and hey, Van Halen was my hair band of choice throughout my misspent youth. so it’s kinda perfect for me. Check out the site! (pic is the link as usual)

I’ve added it to my online shopping links for your shopping pleasure.

Pounding the Pavement

Written by on 25th June 2012 in Blog POSTS with 0 Comments

Usually I pound the pavement close to home…. I’m either shopping for clients, viewing houses or walking my dog…but this weekend I hit the streets of Seattle to do another Half Marathon and pound the pavement south of the border. I walked this time due to a knee injury and I can safely say Never Again! I’m good, I’m done. I’m satisfied. YAY! Congrats to me and the other 26,000 peeps who played.

Seattle was wet, windy, sunny, hot, windy, cold and drizzly…just what you’d expect I guess. Have a great week. One Room Challenge starts this week. Oh what’s that, you say? better stay with me this week to find out ;)

Extreme Makeover

Written by on 13th June 2012 in Blog POSTS with 0 Comments

Local hero Paul Latour is spearheading another extreme makeover project for a deserving non profit organization.  This time the recipient is the Mustard Seed which assists more than 7000 Victorians each month.

His idea is based on social media support driving the business community into action. Watching his video and tweeting or sharing his messages on a chosen date will generate visible public support for his cause and motivate corporate sponsorship. It works! And it doesn’t cost you/me a thing to lend our support and help make this happen.

get on the email list or check him out …Go Paul! I’m a supporter! (pic is the link as usual)
