Eclectic Living Room in the Gorge

It’s not an urban legend…it does happen from time to time….YES! you can decorate a space without shopping! I recently styled this eclectic living room using only my clients existing accessories and art. Now, of course, these clients have allot of treasures collected over the years so that made it easy to create a warm and layered look using their stuff. A new couch and console table under the TV were introduced and the rest was all there in storage and in other rooms of the house.  It didn’t hurt that I share their affinity for West Coast First Nations art and boldly mixing antiques with more modern pieces ….so it all came together rather quickly one sunny Victoria afternoon.

Here’s how the place looked when we started…

And here it is today…

This fireplace and mantel are huge and required a few large pieces but I kept a common theme in terms of content and colours so that although there are many pieces up there – it is interesting instead of visually chaotic.

Simple, Stylish, Comfortable and Personal. Just Right.
