St. Andrews – Living Room
December 17, 2014
Old Victorian house with lots of charm but I wanted to give it some style and show off the art collection. Items that we agreed to re-use were the two white slip covered sofas, the rug and two wood end tables.
My client was open to the dark wall colour (Hale Navy) and we introduced some tribal prints and kilim pillows for colour and texture. Custom curtains and sheers in classic white with brass hardware kept it relevant to the period home and a custom made extra long bench cushion created another place to perch.
Two small glass tables were added instead of one large coffee table and a re-arrangement of the furniture created walking paths all around the room. It feels so much more vibrant and warm with the addition of the textiles and glass and brass accents. Their art really pops on the dark walls too.
