Week 6 – The Results

Written by on 22nd February 2012 in Blog POSTS with 23 Comments

Well here it is, the last post in the One Room Challenge to complete one room in my house in six weeks. It really was the perfect amount of time and it was so much fun to follow the progress of all the other bloggers who took part. I’m really going to miss having so much traffic to my blog, but I’m glad to have met some really awesome ladies that I can continue to follow and learn from …but most of all I am so glad to have finally finished the bedroom!

Here is what the room looked like when we moved in 2 years ago….These pics document how I changed the paint and the flooring immediately upon moving in…

And here is how it looks today…

works like a charm ;)

I have to say that I’m really happy with the results. I’m not a professional photographer, but I hope I’ve captured the moody eclectic feeling I was going for…of course the dog would not leave and I was losing the little bit of brightness in a weekend of pretty much solid rain…so alas the resident ham/helper is in the shots.

Here is my Inspiration Pic again by Designer Eric Cohler:

  • Painted Bedside tables and changed hardware
  • Replaced Hardware on old dressers
  • Painted feature wall
  • New Duvet Cover, rug and Lamps
  • Re-purposed small frames and art pieces creating gallery walls
  • DIY Art pieces

It’s from Winners….but I bought is 3 years ago and it has been in my office. I love that it has taken on a totally new feeling in the more masculine room.

  9. I am late to the party, today. This is so beautiful, Nicole. Wow, I hope you husband doesn’t think you “ruined” the night stands anymore? It is eclectic, chic, and comfy. The dog looks so happy and the landing pad, launch zone….whatever….is so creative. I agree with you, this was super fun, but having the room finished is the best feeling! I don’t know what to do with my Wednesday’s.

    • Nicole says:

Thanks Steph! Congrats on the Bebeh. I am also trying to get some pillows made to sell on my site and etsy too. All the best! I’ll be curious to learn more about those dark spoonflower fabrics…I’ll keep following you to find out.

  14. It looks amazing! You got the moody, eclectic feel spot-on. That wall behind the bed is a beautiful gray and I love the way you’ve hung the art. The night tables came out so beautifully as well! And your pup is beautiful too!
